Vogel Tool & Die, LLC, announced that it has been acquired by Manor Tool & Manufacturing Company, a precision tooling and stamping supplier that celebrated its 50th year in business in 2009.
Vogel, a name most fencers will recognize, began in Chicago in 1934. Vogel invented and patented the first punch & die for notching the end of a tube or pipe, so that it could fit the side of another pipe. Although widely imitated, Vogel’s tools have been made in the USA for 75 years. If you make chain link gates, or flatten square tubing to make your own pickets, odds are you’ve used a Vogel Arc-Fit notcher to cut your pipe ends.
Larry Siegal, Vogel’s Sales Manager explains: “Our acquisition brings us to a new and exciting time in Vogel’s long history. With our acquisition by Manor, we now have two manufacturing facilities available to produce Vogel products. This means we can offer more flexibility, reduced lead times and the stability of being part of a large, well-respected organization, such as Manor.”
Vogel will be exhibiting at FenceTech 2010, in Orlando, in booth #163.
