Encon Electronics hosted their 10th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday August 8th at the Tracy Golf and Country Club in Tracy California.
This year’s event coincided with Encon’s 25th anniversary celebration
Over 100 players participated, with the field consisting of Encon employees, paired with dealers and manufacturers.
Encon typically adopts a theme for their event and evens the playing field by designing a tournament which focuses on accumulating raffle tickets instead of shooting the lowest score.
A Monopoly theme and underlying 10th / 25th anniversary spotlight provided a unique challenge for tournament organizers, resulting in an experience which had competitors scrambling for shots throughout the day.
One of the challenges facing participants included a par 3 GO! hole where teams vie for tickets by completing the hole within designated time constraints.
At Chance and Community chest holes, contestants drew sealed cards located at the tee box and follow instructions ranging from playing with 3 clubs to rolling the chance dice.
Raffle prizes donated by tournament sponsors included Nintendo Wii game systems, tool combo sets and laptop computers.
